Mesothelioma and your sex life

There is no medical reason to stop having sex because you have cancer - even mesothelioma. In fact, a sexually loving relationship can generate warmth, comfort and a sense of well-being that can only benefit you and your partner. Even kissing and hugging can feel very special as you face the challenge of your illness together.

You and your partner may have concerns about your mesothelioma and its effect on your physical relationship; perhaps a fear of hurting you while making love.  But you need not deny your sexual needs and desires. There are many ways of sharing love and finding satisfaction. As long as you feel well enough, you and your partner may continue to share sexual intimacy. You should feel free to discuss any questions or concerns you have with you doctor.
